I don’t know about you, but when it comes to adventuring I like to fly by the seat of my pants. Sometimes the coolest moments are unplanned. Eloping gives you the ability to simply stop and enjoy your surroundings, your partner, and the lovely experience that marriage should be.

NOT AS MUCH HASSLE

Big wedding = Big responsibility. Every detail is timed down to the second. From the kind of chair stoppers to the first dance. All of this planning and for what? I can guarantee you that most of these minute details will be time and money that you will never get back. The worst part… 90% of the time all that stress you don’t even care about.

AVOID THE “AWKWARD HUG”

We all “know” 7th cousin (twice removed) Ted, and with him comes his whole posse. Most, if not all, you’ve never met before. Leading to the inevitable forced display of awkward affection. An elopement day allows you to invite the people that truly matter to you. It even allows for the day to be just you and your partner.

THE INTIMACY

This day is about one thing and one thing only, the unbreakable bond you share with your partner. There should be no pressure to mask your true feelings or emotions. By all means bring all of that with you and make yourself present in the moment. 

SPENDING THE WHOLE DAY WITH YOUR PARTNER

Having to split your time between family members and friends can often separate the two of you for a majority of the day. It’s overwhelming and tedious. While it may be enjoyable for them I can guarantee that it’s probably not for you. 

SAVE YOUR MONEY

All I have to say is ^^^^. Experiences over material. I’m a big believer in spending your money on things you’ll value and appreciate in the long run. Dream big and spend it on a wild adventure. The world was made to be explored.

AVOID PRESSURE OF FAMILY/ FRIENDS, IT’S YOUR DAY

This day is about YOU. It’s not about the opinions of those around you. “Well that’s not how I would do it.” Who cares! This is YOUR day. Don’t give in to the idea that it’s not. 

DON’T HAVE TO BE THE CENTER OF ATTENTION

I guess you will be the center of attention, but without the audience. That’s one of the main anxieties during a traditional wedding. Everyone looking at you, talking to you, hugs and handshakes galore. NO THANK YOU. You should feel 1000% comfortable with maybe a hint of the excitement wedding day jitters. 

PHOTOS THAT TELL A STORY

This is why I have the best job in the world. Elopement days are so special. It allows me to focus on the work of art that is you as a couple. I get to be creative and most importantly you get to enjoy the process. We’ve all seen the awkward staged photos where everyone involved is extremely uncomfortable. I capture the moments as they happen. The real and raw emotion. 

ALLOWS YOU TO BE COMPLETELY WACKY AND WEIRD

WEIRD IS SO COOL. Quirks and personality are what makes humans so awesome. Of all days this shouldn’t be one that you mask your uniqueness. I welcome all of the things that make you, you!

DRAG OUT THE EXPERIENCE

Why not have a few days of wedding fun! A trip will turn it into such a fun adventure that will let you get the most out of the wedding experience.

The dress. The tuxedo. (Thousands of dollars later) I say spice it up. Add some flair to the “traditional” wedding day get up. I’m in full support of just your everyday hiking outfit too!

COLLECT MEMORABLE TOKENS

Any scrapbookers in the house?! Sentiments found during adventure hold it’s own unique value. Plus traveling equals new stickers and patches. Who doesn’t love to deck their car out…I know I do.

THE ABILITY TO CHANGE PLANS

No strict play by play schedule here. It’s all up for grabs. If you want to explore longer or just take a minute to grasp everything then that’s what we’ll do. Just say the word.

I think it’s fair to say that your wedding day should be enjoyable. It represents both you and your partner as a whole. Let me just say life is too short to not embrace every moment.
